Paul was brought up in Durban (South Africa) and completed his cadetship and went on to sail as 5/Eng and 4/Eng across a six year period with Safmarine/Maersk.

With an extensive career on motor boats between 35-90m in length since 2007 and sailing as Ch/Eng since 2014 with >20 transatlantic crossings, Paul remains a very hands-on engineer.

 

Immediately prior to joining Astra, Paul sailed as Ch/Eng on a 55m Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel.
